Amongst the areas of focus of Yayasan Arsari Djojohadikusumo (YAD) is the protection and preservation of the environment, particularly the rare and endangered animal species. YAD, which actively supports various efforts in conserving rare and endangered wildlife is currently preparing the construction of a Sumatran tiger rehabilitation center in the conservation forest of Prof. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra. The construction and management of the center is a collaboration of various stakeholders such as the local government of West Sumatra through the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) of West Sumatra, the Aspinall Foundation (TAF), UK and among others. The institute is named Pusat Rehabilitasi Satwa Harimau Sumatera Dharmasraya (PRS HSD) or Dharmasraya Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Centre.
YAD, in cooperation with West Sumatra BKSDA under the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, manages Dharmasraya Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center as a Special Conservation Institution to Rehabilitate Sumatran Tigers under PKS.255/K.9/TU/KSA/02/2023 and 001/PKSYAD/II/ signed on 2 February 2023….

The Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD)stemmed from the social activities carried out by the family of Hashim Djojohadikusumo. Mrs. Anie Hashim Djojohadiusumo began helping those in need over 35 years ago.
The family eventually formed the Hashim Djojohadikusumo Family Foundation (YKHD) as the foundation’s activities increased and expanded.
In 2009, YKHD was renamed the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD).Arsari is an acronym for the three children of Mr. and Mrs. Hashim Djojohadikusumo – Aryo, Sara and Indra.
Today, the foundation supports programmes and activities in education, social impact, environment and culture, while collaborating with higher education institutions, the government, and other non-profit organisations.
Our work reaches across the country, including our sites in West Sumatra (the Dharmasraya Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center), Riau (the Riau Conservation Center), and East Kalimantan (the Orangutan Sanctuary Center).
Salam lestari
Bangsa Indonesia is a grand nation, one that should be proud of the wealth of natural resources and culture inherited from its predecessors. The fundamental question lies in our ability to preserve our heritage. Are we able to preserve it so that future generations may utilize it fully?
To answer this question, the Arsari Djojohadikusumo Foundation (YAD) was established with programs dedicated to various social causes and education through the improvement of facilities and infrastructure. YAD provides scholarships and support for teachers, lecturers, and professors. YAD aims to improve educational facilities, most especially of those related to history, such as archaeology, anthropology, literature, and so on. YAD focuses on fields related to history with the purpose of bringing the nation closer to its identity. We hope that through the development of education through said activities, more of the nation’s children who care about their historical roots will move to preserve their heritage and carry those actions in their daily lives.
This nation must continue its glory as evidenced from the height of the greatness of the Majapahit Kingdom, as well as from the period of struggle for Indonesian independence. Let us continue and realize the ideals and aspirations of our predecessors by preserving our culture and our environment for a glorious Indonesia!
Hashim Djojohadikusumo
