Salam lestari,
This February issue of YAD News comes with an assortment of activities done by YAD units and divisions in the Year of Water Tiger, the symbol of courage and change.
YAD proudly applauded its field team for their courage to fight at the frontier in the efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and release Sumatran tigers (Panthera tigris sumatrae) in the escalating conflict between humans and wildlife. PR-HSD ARSARI’s various achievements have been recognized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry through an invitation to share their experiences in the National Seminar “The Future of the Sumatran Tiger: Conflict Management and Private Sector Involvement”, scheduled in mid-February 2022. This issue will showcase a review of that seminar, while also highlighting some interesting experiences from PSO-ARSARI about the unique life of orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus).
Another interesting piece is the story about the anniversary of Mandala Majapahit (ManMa) Unhas, which recently entered its fourth year. One of the ways to celebrate this occasion was through the webinar: “Tracing the Trails of Majapahit in the Land of Mandar”, featuring expert speakers from eastern Indonesia.
We hope you will find this edition enriching.
