Riau Conservation Center (PKR) Arsari is one of the successful implementations of YAD’s vision and mission. It was first initiated in response to human and wildlife conflict that occurred in Riau in 2018, which eventually led to a collaboration between YAD and BBKSDA Riau in 2020. The scope of PKR Arsari activities includes protecting, safeguarding, and conserving biodiversity in Riau through patrols, wildlife rescue, wildlife release, construction and management of Animal Rescue Centers (PPS), and public awareness campaigns.

PKR acts as YAD’s representative in collaboration with Natural Resources Conservation Center at Riau as stated in Cooperation Agreement no: PKS.254/K.6/BTU/KUM.3/01/2023 and 003/YAD-PKS/II/2023 signed on 2 February 2023, regarding Strengthening the Functions of Giam Siak Kecil – Bukit Batu Biosphere Reserves as well as the Conservation of Biodiversity through the Development of Rescue, Rehabilitation and Release Programs for Sumatran Tigers and Other Endemic Animals at the Natural Resources Conservation Center at Riau.
The Riau Conservation Center (PKR) Arsari endeavors to play an active role in supporting the government’s efforts to conserve endangered animals in Indonesia.
