Salam lestari,
In this September 2021 issue, YAD News is back with exciting updates on
the latest environment and cultural conservation efforts done by our dedicated teams. The highlight of
environmental conservation this month is wildlife, which will cover activities
in Riau and East Kalimantan.
Our PR-HSD ARSARI team in West Sumatra will
share with us their experiences during the conflict between human and Sumatran
Tiger at Teluk Lanus, Riau. The hard work of the evacuation team led
by Riau KSDA which culminated in the tiger finally entering the trap cage on
September 8, 2021. The Sumatran tiger, christened as Lanustika, is currently
rehabilitated at PR-HSD ARSARI.
Next, we will gain insight about enrichment,
specifically for animals rehabilitated in quarantine cages. Our PSO-ARSARI team
will elaborate on enrichment tips for Bento, Boni, and Beni, the three
orangutan residents of PSO.
Last but not least, we will also get an overview
of YAD’s activities in supporting and safeguarding heritage in the form of
advocacy on cultural heritage issues.
We hope you enjoy this edition.
