Yayasan Arsari Djojohadikusumo (YAD) provides aid for the victims of the tsunami and earthquake disaster in Mentawai in 2010. YAD’s aid was mainly focused on assisting and strengthening the community in the post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. The activities included assistance for health, formation of cooperatives and micro-credit. The foundation also helps train people to be health workers, optimizing of community health centres and Posyandu (integrated health services) and preparing the communities for disaster alert. In cooperatives and micro-credit trainings people were promoted to be an entrepreneur according to their own potency.
