YAD News Vol 17-2022
YAD News comes to you this month with the highlight on the successful release of Sumatran Tiger โ€œPutri Singgulungโ€ on 16 October 2022 after 2 years of rehabilitation. The hard work of PR-HSD ARSARI team in West Sumatra, starting from evacuation, rehabilitation, and finally successful release has yielded truly extraordinary results. Of course, this hard work can only be achieved with the support from various parties, especially the West Sumatra BKSDA and related institutions of the Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry. This release is also incredibly special because it received direct support from the Indonesian Ministry of Defense and the Indonesian Air Force through using helicopter for the release. YAD News Vol 18-2022
November is the month of Majapahit, commemorating the coronation of Raden Wijaya as the first king of Majapahit on the 15th day of the month of Kartika in 1215 Caka, or the 12th of November in 1293 AD (Kidung Harsya Wijaya Demung VI Kidung 84-b and 85-b). This issue thus showcases various pieces related to the 729th anniversary of Majapahit (1293-2022), such as Majapahit Heritage Trail in Bali, specifically at Karangasem and Klungkung. There is also an article covering an exhibition on Creative Products based on Majapahit Values in Denpasar, which was opened virtually by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. Another interesting article is about talkshows organized by YAD and partners at Udayana University, Bali.

YAD News comes back this month with stories from our friends and partners in East Kalimantan, Trowulan, and West Sumatra in the fields of education, culture and the environment. The highlight is about YADโ€™s partnership with various partners in conservation, especially in wildlife conservation. Another is about YADโ€™s collaboration with the IKN Authority about the plans for a sanctuary island which will be a part of the future Nusantara Capital. The signing of a partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia is also an important story in this issue.

In the field of environment, we covered PR-HSD ARSARI veterinary medical team who recently examined the reproductive health status of Sumatran elephants upon request from the Riau BKSDA. Still from Riau, there is also story from another YAD field unit in Riau, the PKR-ARSARI, about their experience of releasing endangered animals back to their habitat.
