December’s issue of YAD News comes with recounts of interesting events at the end of 2021, particularly in the field of conservation of nature and culture.
The Subak Field School or Bali International Field School for Subak (BIFSS) is a major activity that has been initiated by YAD and its partner, the Indonesian Heritage Trust (BPPI) since 2015. In early December, the 7th BIFSS took place in Selat Village, Karangasem, Bali, which will be fleshed out further in an article below.
Another interesting topic covers retreat activities to build capacity of the YAD teams, both in the Jakarta office and in the field. It was an exciting event combined with evaluation for the current year and preparation for 2022.
This issue also features several interesting articles about Sumatran tigers, orangutans, as well as a review about a memoir of RM Margono Djojohadikusumo, which English version is republished this year.
