This month’s YAD News brought to you some interesting articles about events related to environmental and cultural conservation which are part of YAD’s routine programs, in addition to snippets of educational and social programs.
The field of environmental conservation highlights YAD’s collaboration with Andalas University in Kampus Merdeka program held at the Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center in Dharmasraya (PR-HSD) from September to December 2022. In the side of culture, there is a story about one of YAD’s longtime partners, BPPI, and its cooperation with Japan in conserving Saujana heritage. Another interesting piece in the field of culture highlights the Subak Field School program in Bali, which also led BPPI to become the recipient of the INTO Excellent Award 2022. Congratulations to BPPI and Indonesia!
This month’s issue also teaches us the regulation and penalty for hunting and trading of protected plants and animals in Indonesia. It is extremely in line with conservation efforts on wildlife and biodiversity that has been faithfully carried out by YAD until today.
The inspirational figure this month is Prof. Inajati Adrisijanti, fondly known as Bu Poppy, a professor of Archeology from UGM who has pioneered various important archaeological research milestones in Indonesia, including her contribution to one of YAD’s flagship programs: the Indonesian Integrated Archaeological Research (PATI).
